Sweet Sour Meatballs

While pork sweet sour meatballs recipe is a well known pork recipe around the world we Filipinos has it's own way of preparing this delicious ground pork dish. Here is my method of preparing Pork meatballs with sweet and sour sauce.

Meatball Recipe Ingredient  :

  • 1 kg of ground pork
  • Cooking oil
  • 2 onion, minced
  • 4 egg, beaten briskly
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tbsp ground peppercorn
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 carrot minced
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 stalk kinchay, chop
  • vetsin

Direction of Cooking For Meatballs Recipe :

In a mixing bowl, mixed thoroughly all of the meatballs ingredient. Form a ball 1” diameter. In a heated pan with oil deep fry raw meatballs until golden brown. Drain excess oil in a platter with tissue paper to absorbed oil, set aside.

Ingredient for Sweet and Sour Sauce:

1 carrot, julienne
1 can pineapple tidbits
1 red bell pepper, cut
2 tbsp garlic, minced
1 pc onion, chopped
1 pc tomato, quartered
1/4 cucumber, slice into cubes
Cooking oil
3 tbsp soy sauce
2 tbsp sugar
salt to taste
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup cornstarch dissolve in 1/2 cup of water
2-3 tsp of slice spring onion

In a wok with cooking oil, sautee garlic, onion, tomato, cucumber, carrot, and pineapple tidbits. Add pineapple juice, soysauce, sugar, water. Bring to a boil and simmer, salt to taste or add sugar according to your taste. When the prefer sweet and sour taste achieved pour in dissolve starch to thickened, lastly add red bell pepper and vetsin.

In a platter with pork meatballs, pour in sweet and sour sauce as a topping and garnished with spring onion at the top. Served pork sweet and sour meatballs recipe while hot along with hot steamy rice.
