Beef Caldereta Recipe

Beef Caldereta or Kalderetang baka is  a popular filipino stew recipe for any occasion. Aside from beef,  goat meat could the best subtitute for beef as caldereta. Everybody loves this filipino food as a pulutan  (delicacy during drinking session) or just for day to day viand. Everybody has their own version preparing this beef recipe caldereta and i hope that you would like my own version.

 Caldereta Ingredient :

  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 cups chop onion
  • 1 1/2 cup chop
  • tomato 4 pcs medium size potato cut into 4
  • 3 / 4 cup slice red bell pepper
  • 1 1 / 2 kg beef cut into cube
  • 2 - 3 cups beef broth stock
  • 2 pack of caldereta mix seasoning
  • salt and pepper
  • Patis / fish sauce
  • 3 pcs red hot chilli chop
  • 2 cans reno liver spread
  • 1 / 2 cup cornstarch to thickened sauce dissolve in a 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup coconut cream

Cooking Procedure for Beef  kaldereta Recipe

Wash and boil beef using pressure cooker on a litre of water until the beef is tender, add water if necessary. On a separate pot saute minced garlic, onion and tomato on olive oil. Add boiled tender beef, fish sauce when tomato is well done, cover the pot  and simmer for 15 minutes. Pour the beef broth (stock), caldereta mix seasoning and potato until it tenderize, add coconut cream, liver spread, cornstarch to thickened and lastly add chilli, red bell pepper, salt to taste. Served beef caldereta recipe with hot steamy rice.
