Lumpiang sariwa is a vegetarian Filipino recipe wrap using a lumpia wrapper. Bamboo shoot is popular ingredient for this recipe but with this posting i am just merely focus on using various vegetable as a main ingredient. Everybody likes this healthy and nutritious filipino recipes, here is my method of preparing lumpiang sariwa, an all time favorite Filipino food.
Ingredient For Lumpiang Sariwa Recipe
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 pc onion medium size (chopped)
- 200 gram ground pork
- 200 grams shrimp
- soy sauce and sugar
- 5 pcs bean curd ( Tofu) cut into square
- 200 gram carrots, skinned and cut into strips
- 200 gram cabbage cut into pcs
- 200 gram Baguio beans cut into pcs
- 200 gram Chayote cut into pcs
- 200 gram mongo sprout, clean
- lettuce
- patis / fish sauce
- vetsin
- salt to taste
- Pork cubes seasoning
- 1/2 cup of brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 cup pork or chicken stock
- 1 tsp rock salt
- 2 heaping tbsp cornstarch mix with half cup of water
- 5 cloves garlic
Lumpia wrapper ingredient:
- 2 pc egg
- 2 cup of flour
- 2 cup water
- 1 tbsp cooking oil
- Peanut ( Grind) or just use grind Growers peanut
Procedure of Cooking for Lumpia Sariwa Recipe Filling
Saute garlic and onion in oil, add gound pork, patis (fish sauce) and simmer until oil start to render. Add shrimp, tofu and water, pork cube and simmer for 5 minutes. Add remaining vegetable except for lettuce and stir fry until vegetable is done. Add salt to taste and drain in a strainer.
Procedure for Preparing Lumpia Sauce
Mix all of the ingredient except for the cornstarch, let it boil and add cornstarch dissolved in water while stirring to thickens.
Procedure for Preparing Lumpia Wrapper
Mix egg, flour and water while beating until it start to batter, add gradually the oil while continously beating gradually. Let it stand for an hour. Use non stick teflon pot with oil and place over low heat. Use a scooper to pour batter (paper thin), wait for the batter from sticking out from the pot, turn to the opposite side until done.
Wrapping Procedure :
Place lumpia wrapper on the plate and add 2 - 3 Tbsp cook vegetable filling at the center of the wrapper with a lettuce leaf in the center. Fold and roll the wrapper to cover. Add Lumpia sauce and sprinkle with ground peanut. Lumpiang sariwa recipe is served as a viand or appetizer.
