Ginisang Ampalaya

Ginisang ampalaya ( sauteed ampalaya recipe) is a day to day Filipino food recipe. It is a nutritious and yet so affordable recipe. The ingredient is always available in local market, easy to prepare and it is usually cook to compliments dry food such as prito and inihaw na isda. You should try this Filipino vegetable recipe.

Ingredient for Ginisang Ampalaya:

2- 3 pcs ampalaya, remove seed and cut into slices
2-3 tbsp garlic
1 onion, skin and peeled
1 pc tomato, slice
200 gram ground pork
2-3 tbsp black beans( Tausi)
1 egg ( beaten)
vetsin
salt to taste

Ginisang Ampalaya Procedure for Cooking 

In a pan with cooking oil, sautee garlic, onion, ground pork and simmer for 5 - 10 minute or until ground pork start to yield its own oil. Add blackbeans and simmer for another 5 minute. Add1 1/2 of water and simmer for another 5 minute to cook blackbeans. Add ampalaya, bring to boil  and cook for 5-10 minute, add vetsin, salt to taste and beaten egg. Use ladle to mix cooked vegetable. Served newly cooked Ginisang ampalaya while it is hot with hot white rice. Enjoy.

Tip : To lessen bitterness of ampalaya, blanch the vegetable in boiling water for few seconds then drain.
