Adobong Sitaw Recipe

Adobong sitaw, another variation of famous Filipino recipes adobo, as you could see almost any ingredient could be cook with adobo style, it could be fish, chicken or pork and even seafoods as i already tasted oyster cook in adobo style, anyway here is my recipe for cooking a filipino vegetable recipe known as adobong sitaw which is more healthier, affordable and delicious too.

Adobong Sitaw Recipe Ingredient:

  • 1 bundle of sitaw -string bean ( cut into 1 1/5 inch strips)
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 50 gram shrimp, deshell (optional)
  • 1 whole onion, sliced
  • 1 thumbsize ginger, peeled and cut into strips
  • 150 gram ground pork
  • 1/2 cup soysauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Vetsin
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tbsp ground peppercorn


Direction of Cooking for Adobong Sitaw


In a pot, bring to boil ground pork into a cup of water, let it dry until it renders oil, add oil if necessary then sautee garlic, onion and ginger, simmer for few minute. Add sitaw and shrimp and sautee for a minute then add 1/2 cup water, soysauce, and vinegar. Bring to boil, add ground peppercorn and simmer fo 5-8 minute, add vetsin, salt to taste and served adobong sitaw hot along with fried fish as a compliment with hot steamy rice.
