Chicken pastel recipe is a filipino well loved recipe during special occasion just like christmas and fiesta's. This recipe is so flavorful due to its different ingredient. Here is how i prepare this delicious filipino menu, chicken pastel recipe.

- 1 whole chicken, cut into serving pieces
- 3 tbsp of toyo
- 1 calamansi juice
- 3 cups of water
- 1 1/2 tbsp rock salt
- 1/4 tsp peppercorn
- 1/2 cup margarine
- 2 pcs chorizo de bilbao, julienne
- 1 can vienna sausage, sice
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 1/2 green olives
- 1 chicken cubes
- 1 carrot, cut into cubes
- 3 pcs potato, medim size cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup button mushroom
- 1/2 cup cornstarch, dissolve in 1/2 cup water
- 2 hard boiled egg, cut
- 1 1/2 cup gold medal all purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1/4 cup cold water
- egg wash
- Marinate slice shicken with soy sauce and calamansi juice, set aside for 15 minute.
- In a casserole boil the chicken from water,salt and peppercorn until tender, drain.
- In a separate pot, heat margarine and fry chicken a litte until it change in color
- Add chorizo de bilbao and sausage.
- Add chicken broth and chicken cubes to boil abd simmer.
- Add olives, carrot, potato and mushroom.
- When it tenders, add vetsin, salt to taste and cornstarch to thickened.
- Transfer cooked chicken pastel recipe into baking dish
- Pre heat oven to 450 degrees fahrenheit
- On a clean mixing bowl, mix salt, flour, cold water, shortening, lard into a dough.
- In a flat surface, use rolling pin to flattened dough.
- Cover with the flattened dough the cook pastel and seal the side by pressing to stick the edges.
- Prick small holes to dough surface to let the steam out during baking process, brush with egg wash.
- Bake until golden brown.
