Laing Recipe

Laing recipe is a  famous filipino recipe from Bicol region, they are so fond on eating spicy food as they usually garnish their recipe with chilli and coconut milk. The logical reason for that is due to the abundance of coconut trees and chilli on said area. The most popular recipe are pinangat or most commonly known in tagalog area as laing . It is a simple traditional filipino recipes that every filipino loves because of for being affordable and for the unique taste it has, . Here how i prepare this famous filipino food recipe

Ingredient:
  • 30 pcs of  shredded taro leaves (sun dried for 2 - 3) days
  • 30 pcs skinned taro leaves stalk (cut into strips)
  • 1 cup of coconut cream ( kakang gata)
  • 2 cup of coconut milk
  • 200 gram of Liempo or pork belly
  • 100 gram of dried fish (labahita)
  •  1/2 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 pc of onion chop
  • 2 tbsp chop ginger (chop)
  • Monosodium glutamate ( Vetsin) or Aji-ginisa
  • siling labuyo ( Chilli)
Procedure of Cooking:

Mix all the ingredient on a casserole except fot the coconut cream, let it boil and simmer for 15 minute, add the remaining coconut cream and let it boil and dry until the oil comes out from coconut cream. Served this hot and spicy laing recipe with newly cook white rice.

Note : Do not add any salt as the daing (dried labahita fish) is already salted

Cooking Tip:

It is much easier to shred the taro leaves before drying
If your budget permits, add a lots of coconut cream for more flavor.
