Nilagang Baboy Recipe

Nilaga na Baboy or  boiled pork is anothersimple  filipino recipe that are part of our day to day recipe along with adobo baboy recipe and sinigang baboy recipe. The three mentioned recipe could be the most prepared filipino pork recipe at all time for the reason that it is easy to prepare which are perfect for busy mother like me. Beef can be used also as a alternate meat ingredient instead of pork and when fish use as the main meat ingredient the recipe are called pesang isda, I think there is a slight difference for pesa and nilagang baboy as for the first one  is being incorporated by ginger to lessen fishy taste but there are also people that include ginger when cooking nilaga.

Nilagang Baboy Ingredient:

  • 1 kg pata , chop
  • 1/4 kg kasim, cut into square
  • 2 pcs sibuyas
  • 1 bundle petsay tagalog
  • 1/2 medium size cabbabge
  • 2-3 pcs potato, quarter
  • 1/2 tsp ground peppercorn
  • salt to taste
  • vetsin
  • pork cubes seasoning
  • 1 bundle spring onion, clice inti 1" long

Nilagang baboy Recipe Procedure for Cooking :

  • In a big casserole enough to contain the pork meat, add 7 glass of water to tender pata and kasim.
  • Remove floating scum rises at the top of the broth
  • Continue boiling and simmer until pata tenderize along with kasim
  • Add onion, ground peppercorn, salt, potato
  • Simmer until potato is tender enough
  • Add Petsay and Cabbage
  • Season with vetsin and salt to taste
Served nilagang baboy filipino pork recipe in a deep bowl while the broth is still hot with steamy rice, garnish with spring onion at the top. Enjoy
