Recipe for Coconut Milk

You should try this flavorful ginataang recipe. Everytime that there is an opportunity (as alimango is quite expensive and not always available in our local market) I always prepare this ginataang gulay as my kid like it so much. Here how i cook this awesome recipe and i'm sure that your family will like this also.


Ginataang Gulay with Alimango Ingredient


  • 2-3 cups kalabasa (squash), cut into cube and wash
  • 1 bundle sitaw (string bean), cut into 2 inch strips and wash
  • 2-3 pcs medium size mud crab (alimango)wash and  cut into halves
  • 2-3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2-3 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 whole onion, sliced
  • 2-3 thumb size ginger, skinned and julienne
  • 1-2 tbsp bagoong (shrimp paste)
  • salt to taste
  • vetsin or monosodium glutamate
  • 2 cups coconut milk (gata)
  • 1 cup coconut cream (kakang gata)
  • 1 pc siling labuyo, slice(optional)

Ginataang Gulay Direction for Cooking:

Sautee garlic, onion, ginger in a clean pot with cooking oil. Add bagoong and simmer for few minute, add coconut milk and continously stirring to avoid curdling. Add alimango (mud crab), cover  and cook for several minute then include sitaw and kalabasa (squash and stringbean). Wait until sauce decrease in half then  add coconut cream and simmer until sauce decrease by half and add siling labuyo, vetsin, salt to taste. Served newly cook spicy ginataang recipe with crab and gulay along white steam rice, enjoy..
