Pochero Recipe

Pochero or puchero  (Spanish Beef Recipes) is one of Filipinos popular foods recipes. As there are a lots of  dine in restaurant that specialized lanciao ,caldeitas and pochero. There are many variations of pochero recipe, it is depending from the chef who really knows the taste for their customer. There is a lot of different variation posted on internet for cooking Pochero but i think my system is the real since my mother uses this procedure for a long long time.

Pochero Ingredient:
  • 3/4 Pork Liempo, sliced
  • 3/4 Sliced Beef
  • 1/2 Chicken
  • 3-4 Tbsp Cooking oil
  • 1 cup
  • 1 medium size onion, diced
  • 3-4 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2-3 pcs chorizo de bilbao. sliced
  • 5 pcs boiled potato, cut into quarter
  • 5 pcs saging na saba, boiled and cut diagonally
  • 1 bundle of spring onion, sliced
  • 3-4 pcs boiled sweet potato, cut into serving pcs
  • 3/4 cup, boiled garbanzos (green peas)
  • 1/2 kg cabbage, shredded
  • 1/4 kg bitsuwelas
  • salt to taste
  • Vetsin
  • Pork stock (4 cups)
Pochero Recipe Direction of Cooking

In a casserole, bring to boil pork liempo and beef in 2 litre of water  with salt and sping onion.  Let it boil until it tenderized. When meat tenderized, separate meat from the broth stock, drain and set aside. In a separate casserole, sautee garlic, onion, choriso de bilbao and chicken, cover and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Pour in 4 cups of pork and beef stock and bring to boil and simmer for 5-10 minute or until chicken is tender. Add pork and Beef along tomato sauce saging na saba, potato, camote, garbansos, bitsuwelas, and brint to boil for few minute. Add cabbage and season with salt to taste and vetsin.

Pochero Eggplant Sauce :

Grilled 7 pcs eggplant, peeled and mash, add 1/2 cup of vinegar, 1/2 tbsp minced garlic, salt and pepper. Mix the ingredient thoroughly.

Served Pochero recipe along with eggplant sauce with hot steamy white rice....Enjoy
