Gising Gising Recipe

To tell you the truth i am not really familiar with gising gising, but when my hubby ask me to cook some for him while giving me some instruction I started to liked and include this recipe in my favorites. The reason why i fall in love for this vegetable recipe because of the simplicity of process and for so affordable, from the ingredients itself I will assume that this hot and spicy delicious gising recipe is from Bicol as they are known for using gata and sili for their culinary style. Anyway, If you want to try my gising gising recipe just follow my step by step procedure.

Gising Gising Ingredient


3 bundle of sigarilyas (winged bean), more or less 40 pcs, slice into small pcs
2-3 tbsp cooking oil
300 gram ground pork
150 gram shrimp, devein
3 cups of coconut cream (kakang gata)
2-3 tbsp of minced garlic
1 whole red onion, minced
3-4 thumb size ginger, peeled and diced
3 tbsp of bagoong alamang (shrimp paste)
salt to taste
vetsin or monosodium glutamate
2-3 pcs siling labuyo, slice (optional)

Gising Gising Recipe Procedure of Cooking


In a pan with cooking with cooking oil, sautee garlic, onion, ginger, add ground pork and mix time to time to avoid ground pork from burning. Whem pork turn into golden brown include shrimp and shrimp paste and simmer for 5 minute or until bagoong is done. Pour in coconut cream and boil while continously mixing to avoid curding, include sigarilyas (winged bean) and cover to cook while stirring from time to time, lastly add vetsin and salt to taste when  sauce almost dry. Served gising gising while it is hot along with hot steamy rice. Enjoy this delicious filipino vegatable recipe
