Crab Soup

Philippines is a country with one of longest coastline in ratio with land area which makes our country rich in seafoods. You can always find in our local market different kinds of seafoods just like big fishes such as tuna, blue marlin, grouper, red snapper, etc...  Our country is not only abundant when it comes to different kind of fish but as well with crustaceans species. Now I will show one of my own recipe cooking crab, filipino's loves crab so much but majority of the people can not afford crabs price as it was really expensive here in the Philippines. Here is my crab soup recipe that surely you will trully love, it is easy soup recipes to prepare, flavourful but as I have said earlier that crab is expensive.


Ingredient for Crab Soup Recipe :

  • 2-3 pcs fresh crab, wash and cut into halves,break pincers
  • 2-3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2-3 tbsp garlic
  • 1 whole onion, sliced
  • 4 cups of water
  • Patis
  • 200 gram of spounge gourd, skin and cube
  • 2 plastic of miswa noodle (fine noodle)
  • salt to taste
  • Vetsin
  • 1/2 ground peppercorn
Direction of Cooking for Crab Soup

In a heated pan with cooking oil, sautee garlic, onion, and add crab and pincers, pour in 2 - 3 tbsp. patis, cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Pour in 4 cups of water, bring to a boil and simmer for 15 minutes to cook crab. Add patola and cook for few minutes, ground peppercorn  salt to taste and add vetsin. Served  crab soup recipe while it is hot with white steamy rice.
