Pininyahang Manok Recipe

Pininyahang Manok Recipe basically is a chicken dishes marinated with pineapple juice and stewed with pineapple chunk which makes this menu so flavorful and yet easy to prepare. I usually prepare this recipe for pininyahang manok during special occasion or at least once a month as my kids love it so much . If you haven't try this manok recipe I will highly recommend you this one and i'm sure that you will like it the way we do. Anyway if you already decide to give it a try here is my recipe for pininyahang manok.


  • 1 kg of dressed chicken, cut into serving pcs and wash
  • 3 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 medium size of pineapple chunks
  • 4 tbsp of Garlic, minced
  • 3 Pcs tomato, sliced
  • 2 pcs onion, sliced
  • 1 cup of kakang gata (coconut cream)
  • 3 medium size potato, skin and quarter
  • 1 pc medium size carrots, skin and cut into serving pcs
  • Red bell pepper, cut into stips
  • 3 tbsp Patis or fermented fish sauce
  • 1 Chicken cubes
  • Vetsin
  • salt to taste
Procedure for Pininyahang Manok

In a clean deep bowl marinated the chicken from pineapple chunk syrup (juice) for 1 hour, refrigerate. In a heated pan with cooking oil sautee garlic, onion, tomato. Add marinated chicken (keep juice for later use), patis and bring to boil and simmer for 15 minute or until chicken start to tenderize. Pour in pineapple and after 5 minute add potato and carrots and continue to simmer until the sauces started to dry and thickens. Pour the coconut cream witn chicken cubes and pineapple chunks, uncover and when the sauce is almost dry add red bell pepper, vetsin and salt to taste, Serve pininyahang manok recipe in platter while it is hot along with hot steamy white rice.
