Lumpia ubod is a well known Filipino Food recipe that are comparable from spring rolls menu on which the main ingredient is a bamboo shoot(ubod). The main ingredient is only the main difference between ubod and lumpiang sariwa(vegetable roll) but the procedure for preparation is mainly just the same. Goldilocks offer it as their regular recipe and it is very popular too.
Filling Ingredient For Lumpiang Ubod
- 1/4 kg ground pork
- 1/4 cup shrimp, shelled and cut into pcs
- 1 kg Ubod or Bamboo shoot cut into match stick pieces
- 1/4 cup cabbage cut into small strips
- 2-3 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 head garlic, macerated
- 1 medium size onion, sliced
- salt to taste
- patis / fish sauce
- Vetsin
- Lumpia wrapper
- Pork cubes
- Lettuce leaves
Procedure of Cooking Lumpiang Ubod
Saute garlic and onion using vegetable oil, add ground pork and 2 tbsp of patis/ fish sauce, cover and simmer for 15 minute or when the pork fat start to secrete oil. Add 1 1/2 cup of water and to boil, and simmer until ground pork is cooked. Place bamboo shoot(ubod) with pork cubes, let it simmer until bamboo shoot tender but firm. Add 1/4 cabbage and salt and vetsin to taste, let it boil and done.
