Kilawin isda or fish kilawin originally oiginated on visayan province as their major livelihood there is fishing. It is consider as a purely lutong pinoy seafood fish recipes because everybody love to prepare this as a appetizer during drinking session.

- Fresh sea water fish -1 kg ( red snapper or maya maya, dilis or anchovy, Tanigue or blue marlin,Tuna)
- 5 Pcs of onion medim size, chopped
- 1/4 cup of peeled ginges, cut into stips and chop
- 15 pcs Calamansi, juiced
- 5 pcs siling labuyo / red hot chillie slice into pcs
- 1 cup of vinegar
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 cup of Coconut milk (optional)
- Clean fish thoroughly, remove gills, guts and scale, rinse with water and drain on a strainer.
- Put on a bowl and pour vinegar to dip and let it stay for 15- 20 minute, drain.
- Add all of the ingredient, salt to taste.
- Add coconut milk (optional)
- Refrigerate fish kilawin for 1-2 hour and served.
