Giniling na Baboy Recipe (Ground Pork Pinoy Dishes)

Giniling na baboy recipe, another filipino pork recipe that can be easily prepare for day to day menu. This menu is part of my list for monthly`meal program for my family as my kids love this recipe so much because of the tasty flavor it has aside from simplicity of cooking procedure and affordability which makes it my favorite too. What makes this pork giniling recipe so versatile, it could becook with a broth or drain the broth to fry it like a omelet. So everytime i prepare this menu i always make sure that i will have some leftover to fry for my kids school lunch. If you are curious to try my giniling recipes just follow my step by step procedure.

Ingredient;

1 kg giniling na baboy (ground pork)
3-4 tbsp garlic
1 whole onion, sliced
4-5 pcs potato, peel and cut into strips
2-3 tbsp patis/ fish sauce
1 cube pork seasoning
vetsin (monosodium glutamate)
salt to taste
2 1/2  cup of water

Procedure of Cooking for Pork Giniling Filipino Recipes

In a pan, sautee garlic, onion, add pork giniling and patis, simmer for few minute until  giniling na babot start to render its own oil. Add water and pork cubes, let it boil and simmer until ground pork is cooked. Pour in strip potato and boil until it tenders, lastly add vetsin and salt to taste. Served this pork giniling recipe while it is hot along with hot steamy white rice.

Optional : If you want to recyle left over from your giniling na baboy recipe and fry it like an omelet, just drain broth and add 1-2 eggs and 1-2 tbsp flour as binder, use your palm to shape it like a putty to fry, served with a catsup as a sauce.

Tortang Talong - Eggplant Omelet

Tortang talong or eggplant omelet is an unexpensive Filipino recipe for cooking omelet from eggplant. This recipe so flavorful especially when served with catsup as sauce. I always prepare this recipe for my kids because they liked it so much and the ingredient are always available in local market. If you want to try my tortang talong recipe, here is my step by step cooking procedure.

Ingredient :

5 pcs Eggplant , grill and peeled
Cooking oil
1/4 kg ground pork
4 eggs, slightly beaten
2-3 tbsp garlic
1 onion, peel and slice
1/4 tsp ground peppercorn
vetsin
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp patis
2 tbsp flour
  
Direction of Cooking:

Grill eggplant and scrape and remove burn skin don't cut stalk, set aside.  In a wok or pan, sautee garlic, onion,ground pork, add patis, bround peppercon and simmer for few minute. Add1/2 cup of water to cook ground pork, let the broth dry until pork render some oil from fat. Add salt if necessary, and stir fy ground pork for a minute, set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat egg using fork then add cooked ground pork and 2 tbsp flour, vetsin while continously mixing using fork. Divide evenly the mixture into as many eggplant you prepare, lay the eggplant in a platter and mixture at the by patting the mixture to make sure it was compact. In a heated `pan, pour in cooking oil, carefully lay in eggplant with pork mixture until it tuns into golden brown, turn eggplant into opposite side to fry. Repeat the same process unti each of the eggplant with ground pork mixture is cook. Served newly fry tortang talong recipe with catsup along with white steamy rice.

Tortang Giniling Recipe

Here is another filipino pork recipe that are worth trying for because for some reason, it is easy to prepare, economical, and delicious especially when served with tomato catsup. I always prepare and stock tortang giniling  for my kids as they love this food so much for their school lunch. Here is my version for preparing Tortang giniling.

Ingredient :

  • 1/2 kg ground pork
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup vegetable
  • 3 pcs medium size potato, cut into cubes
  • 3 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 whole onion slice
  • 4 pcs egg, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp ground peppercorn
  • 2 tbsp patis
  • 1/2 bundle springonion, chop
  • Vetsin
  • 1 tbsp flour  
Direction for Cooking Tortang Giniling


In a heated pot with 2 tbsp oil, sautee garlic, onion, ground pork, add patis and cover to simmer for 5 - 10 minute. Include potato with 1/2 cup of water. Bring to boil until the broth dies up and potato tender. Move cooked ground pork to mixing bowl to cool then include egg, peppercorn and spring onion, flour, vetsin and salt to taste, sccop 2-3 tbsp of pork and form into ball and flattened by pressing using both palm. In a seperate wok with vegetable oil fry the pork carefully especially when flipping the putty on the opposite side when the meat turns into golden brown. Do the same cooking process for the remaining ground pork until everything is done. Served tortang giniling recipe while hot along with hot steamy rice.
