Bangus or Milkfish is not only a popular fish in Philippines, bangus is not as delicious compare with other variation of deep sea fish but it is always part of Filipino cuisine, in fact bangus is Philippine national fish. While milkfish is not really expensive compare with its contemporary, it can be consider as one of the most versatile fish as it can be cook in different recipe, from sinigang to totso, totso to inihaw, from inihaw to kilawin trully there is a lot of recipe that can be cook from bangus. Here is a recipe that i truly like as I always prepare this for my kids as a compliment for sinangag, it is easy to prepare, nutritious and delicious.
Fish Steak Bangus`Recipe:
Procedure for Cooking Bangus Fish Steak:
On a heated frying pan with cooking oil, fry bangus fish and set aside. In a separate pan, sautee onion, then add fish marinate and bring to boil, simmer and add water to lessen saltiness from salt. Add fried bangus and simmer for 5 minute, taste and salt or water as per needed. Served bangus fish steak with newly cooked fried rice and kapeng barako, share and enjoy.
Fish Steak Bangus`Recipe:
- 2-3 onoin, cut into ring
- 1 kg of bangus, slit at the back and wash
- 1/2 cup of soysauce
- 8-10 pcs of calamansi, juiced
- vetsin
- cooking oil
- water
- Pinch of ground peppercorn
